The Raith Supporters Trust have been talking with the Football Memories project (http://www.footballmemories.org.uk/content/the_project/) recently, with a view to setting up a group in the Kirkcaldy area.
It really is a fantastic project, and it was very clear to me that they're making a huge difference to the lives of dementia sufferers around Scotland.
The project was launched two years ago and trains volunteers to spend time with people with dementia who have an interest in football, talking about teams and matches from the past and working with images and memorabilia to stimulate memories.
I'd like to gauge interest from the Rovers support in getting involved with this. We probably need half a dozen volunteers to get things started - it only requires one volunteer to run a session, alongside someone from Alzheimer's Scotland, but we would need to have a number of people involved to give us flexibility to run a regular schedule of sessions.
If you got involved, you would be trained to plan and lead group discussions about football, to research and produce visual aids and to help participants produce their own football memory books.
If you would be interested in finding out more, and potentially in getting involved, please contact Alan Russell at email@example.com. We will then organise a meeting with the project team to find out more about what it would take to start up a local group.
Last season was our first in our new premises within Starks Park. After a fairly slow start the 200 Club has continued to go from strength to strength. After taking into account the initial setup cost associated with the Club conversion and adding the bar profits with our additional fundraising efforts we were in a position to donate a cheque to the football club for £3000. We hope to increase this amount next season.
Our membership has continued to grow and we now find ourselves faced with the real possibility of having to set a membership limit. We have limited space within our Club and a responsibility to manage our membership effectively.
To this end we are inviting our existing members to rejoin the 200 Club prior to the start of next season. By taking this course of action we will be better able to deal more efficiently with new membership requests once our valued core members have rejoined.
Committee members will be in attendance at the 200 Club from 13:00–15:00hrs on Saturday 15th June and also during the same times on Saturday 22nd June when members will be able to rejoin, have a drink and a blether about all things Raith Rovers! If any members are unable to attend on these dates then there is a tear off slip at the bottom of this update that can be printed and used.
Please note that failure to rejoin by 31st July will be deemed an indication that you no longer wish to remain a member of the 200 Club and your position will be offered to someone else.
Membership prices will remain the same as last season: £20/individual & £30/joint.

The season past.
Saturday's win at Livingston heralded the end of Grant Murray's first season in charge of the Rovers and also brought the curtain down on the 200 Club's first season in the old club shop.
The transition from the Raith Suite down to the South stand proved to be a very successful one with membership of the club rising. A lot of new faces joined the ever loyal old faces (not literally, promise!) in making our first season in the new place a huge success and contributing towards the club being able to present fans director Dave Wann with a cheque for £3000 at the player of the year dance held at Dunnikier House.
The recent race night contributed £600 to that amount so thank you to all who attended the event on the 19th April.

There will soon be an election to choose who represents the fans on the RRFC board. Our members will be sent a ballot paper soon and we would urge you to use your vote to select the candidate that you would like to represent us for the next few years.
The Ronnie Coyle 7's.
The 200 Club are entering a team in to the Ronnie Coyle 7's this year. The competition takes place on the 1st of June and we already have a solid backbone of a great team in place. Great at being the worst team ever to take part in a 7's tournament!

200 Club chairman, Andy Mill, is doing the Edinburgh marathon on the 26th May.
Andy is running for Maggies Centre and has been training for a long time in preparation for the event. He tried to entice me to take part but that notion was swiftly put to bed when my wife pointed out that I'm the only person she's seen who sits down for a breather half way up the stairs.

The RRFC 200 Club will be open from 10am this coming Sunday for the Scottish Cup match against Celtic.
With the capacity crowd we expect the club to get really busy so please arrive early to be sure of a seat.

The 200 Club held it's official opening night last Friday.
John Ness, one of, if not the, longest serving members of the famous old club did the ribbon cutting honours heralding the opening of our new premises in the South stand.

If you have visited the 200 Club recently I’m sure you will have been very impressed with the work that has been carried out during the summer months. We managed to convert what was the Supporters Club shop into a comfortable lounge in a very short timescale. This work could not have been completed to such a high standard had it not been for the support, both financially and physically, of our members. The 200 Club has been operating in its present form for a few weeks now and we have been heartened by the positive feedback and comments we have received. This is being reflected by a steady increase in membership.
To recognize and celebrate the contribution made by our members we invite you to attend the official opening night of the new Raith Rovers 200 Club.
This will be held on Friday 14th December 2012 at 7:30pm. Please come and join us for “bubbles and nibbles” and celebrate our remarkable achievement.
As part of our financial commitment to Raith Rovers we will be organizing several fundraising events over the next few months. Firstly, it’s “that time” of year again and I don’t mean Christmas. I am of course talking about the now legendary Decembeard!! Andy Campbell and myself are taking part this year. Within a couple of weeks we will be transformed from two fine looking young men into, in Andy’s case, like the kind of guy that would steal your grannie’s pension book and in my case Shaggy from Scooby Doo!!! Proceeds from this venture will be split between Raith Rovers and Maggie’s Centre. Sponsor sheets will be available next home game.
We have agreed not to run our usual Christmas/New Year raffle. We found that printing and administration costs coupled with the increase in postage gave us only a modest return. Despair not however we will be organizing an in house raffle to be drawn on Saturday 5th January 2013. Various prizes will be on offer ranging from a signed football shirt, meal vouchers, bottles of spirits and many other prizes. Tickets will cost £2 each and will be on sale from next home game.
We will be staging our regular Quiznight early in the New Year. No date has been agreed yet but our intrepid quizmaster Bill Somerville assures me that the questions are prepared and he is waiting for the call. Due to the limited space in the 200 Club this quiz will be restricted to 10 teams of 4 persons.
Members will recall that we held a very successful Racenight in Styx earlier in the year. This event was organized in only a couple of weeks but still realised the sum of £900. We will be holding another Racenight around March/April next year. Details to follow later.
Finally on May 26th 2013 I will be competing in the Edinburgh Marathon. I have decided to seek sponsorship and run to raise money for Raith Rovers. I am hoping that there will be a few other Raith fans taking part in this race and we can raise money together. I hope to have regular updates on how my training is progressing both on our website and the official site also. If there are any members who are thinking about taking part let me know. The Edinburgh Marathon is widely recognized as one of the “easier” courses on the marathon circuit. It’s only 26.2 miles – what can possibly go wrong!!!

Work has been completed on the refurbishment of the old club shop to make it in to the 200 Club members lounge.
Members and committee alike worked almost every day throughout pre-season after being given the opportunity to make a stand-alone 200 Club that didn't share the Raith Suite.
Local businesses did their best to reduce costs, some even doing the work completely free of charge! Also, 200 Club members who haven't been able to help out physically have been extremely generous in the way of financial donations.
Raith supporters who aren't members of the 200 Club have not been shy in coming forward with offers of help too.

We have been in recent talks with the Board of Directors as to the way forward for the 200 Club.
They have proposed that we use the space that housed the club shop in the South stand with early entry being granted through the most appropriate South stand turnstile.
Due to this development, we are bringing the 200 Club AGM forward to Tuesday 19th June at 7pm at the Novar Bar.
All members’ attendance would be very much appreciated to discuss the future direction of the long established RRFC 200 Club.

Raith Rovers 200 Club will be holding a fundraising Quiz Night on Friday 9th March in the Raith Suite, Starks Park, at 7:00pm.
Entry is only £10 per team of four people which will include a buffet. There will be various prizes for the winners and a raffle will also be held.
This is the 200 Club’s third year of hosting this popular fun event, and tables, which are limited, are sure to be snapped up fast.

Raith Rovers 200 Club vice-chairman Geoff Purves today (06/11) handed over a cheque on behalf of the 200 Club for one thousand pounds to RRFC chairman, Dave Somerville.
Mr Somerville, as always, was very appreciative of the funds that the 200 Club membership raises.
As well as the cheque donation, the 200 Club sponsors two players from the first team squad. Fans favourite Craig Wilson and our new goalkeeper, Andy McNeil.
As always, any monies that the 200 Club raise will find it's way back to the club and we are proud to contribute by way of sponsorship for the players.
Thanks to all of our loyal membership and guests, without whom financial contributions to the club would not be possible.
Recently, friend of the 200 Club, Alan Hood made a trip to Los Angeles to play against a celebrity select. Hoody took a Raith away top with him to get signed by David Beckham who was meant to be meeting and greeting (He's good at the latter) the British lads but the England legend's PR vetoed the meeting at the last minute.
All money the 200 Club raises finds its way back to the club one way or another so the strip was handed over to the backroom boys for their fundraiser last Sunday with any proceeds being split down the middle.
